The Dean of the School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan, Dr. Mohammad Sayel Al-Zayoud, emphasized that investigative educational research serves as a powerful tool for improving teaching practices and nurturing new teachers' awareness of the importance of self-reflection and continuous professional growth.
His remarks came during the inauguration of the Investigative Research Project Exhibition, organized by the college under the title: "Asking Diagnostic Questions… Finding Solutions through Best Practices." The exhibition saw wide participation from students of the Postgraduate Diploma in Teacher Preparation Program, along with School members and representatives from the Ministry of Education.
Dr. Al-Zayoud noted that the students' projects reflect genuine insight into classroom challenges and highlight their ability to diagnose educational problems and propose innovative, applicable solutions.
Dr. Omar Khattabah, Director of the Program, praised the efforts of both students and supervising teachers, affirming that the exhibition embodies a key pillar of the program: preparing a "teacher-researcher" who possesses critical thinking and reflective skills and is committed to ongoing professional development.
He added, “We meet today in the spirit of national pride and academic excellence, reaffirming the importance of investing in teachers and equipping them with research and inquiry tools to create stimulating learning environments that respond to students' needs and respect their differences."
The opening ceremony included a brief presentation titled “A Success Story", highlighting the journey of a student with special needs as a way to shed light on the program's inclusivity and the diversity of educational backgrounds. Dr. Talal Arabiyat also delivered a digital presentation featuring statistics and data on the program's performance and high-quality outcomes.
During the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to participating students and academic supervisors in recognition of their dedication and active engagement with the academic and research requirements of the program.
The exhibition featured student-led presentations inside dedicated display halls, showcasing research projects addressing contemporary educational topics using practical tools and methodologies. Topics included:
- STEAM-based integrated education applications
- Strategies for addressing individual differences
- Effective classroom management techniques
Participants highlighted the exhibition as a practical platform that bridges theory and field application, enhancing students' readiness to tackle educational challenges with confidence and competence. At the conclusion of the exhibition, attendees expressed appreciation for the organizational efforts of the School of Educational Sciences and the Postgraduate Diploma Program team.
