Professor Ramzi Fathi Haroun from the School of Educational Sciences Publishes a New Edition of the Book “Classroom Management: An Integrated Approach to Building an Effective Learning Environment”

The newly expanded and revised edition of the book “Classroom Management: An Integrated Approach to Building an Effective Learning Environment” has been released by Professor Ramzi Fathi Haroun from the Department of Teacher Preparation and Field Training at the School of Educational Sciences. The book presents a contemporary and comprehensive perspective on classroom management as a cornerstone of the educational process.

The author moves beyond viewing classroom management merely as maintaining order or reducing behavioral problems, emphasizing instead that it encompasses all practices that enable teachers to build a humane, safe, and stimulating learning environment that fosters positive interaction and smooth learning flow.

This edition stands out for its complete restructuring of chapters based on a preventive and proactive approach rather than a reactive or corrective one, in harmony with modern educational philosophies. A new chapter titled “Case Studies in Classroom Discipline” has been added, addressing real classroom challenges and suggesting practical strategies to deal with them. The book has also been enriched with updated content on e-learning and digital transformation, highlighting their impact on teachers’ roles and classroom management strategies in both face-to-face and hybrid settings.

Furthermore, the book integrates insights from brain-based and neuropsychological research to better understand and manage human behavior. It also includes reflective thinking tasks, pre- and mid-reading reflection prompts, and applied exercises, helping readers transfer knowledge from theory to practice. The illustrations and examples have been updated to reflect the realities of Jordanian and Arab teachers, students, and schools.

Rather than providing ready-made solutions, the book guides teachers toward reflection, critical thinking, dialogue, and experimentation, making it a bridge between theory and practice. It serves as a valuable reference for educators seeking to design contextually appropriate strategies and build safe, humane, and productive classrooms that contribute to enhancing the quality of education and student care.
