Professor Mohammad Sayel Al-Zyoud, Dean of the School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan, met with the instructors of the Higher Diploma in Teacher Preparation Program, in the presence of Dr. Omar Al-Khattatbeh, the Program Director. The meeting came as part of the School’s commitment to ensuring the quality of the program’s outcomes and aligning its implementation with the University’s mission to prepare professionally and pedagogically qualified teachers.
At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Al-Zyoud welcomed the attendees and commended their dedicated efforts in teaching, supervision, and field training. He emphasized that the program is one of the School’s most distinguished initiatives, implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Education, due to its crucial role in preparing new teachers and equipping them with the pedagogical and practical skills necessary to perform effectively in the teaching profession.
The Dean noted that the Higher Diploma in Teacher Preparation reflects the School’s philosophy of integrating theory with practice, by combining academic knowledge with practical field training. This integration contributes to developing teachers who possess critical thinking skills, the ability to plan effectively, and the capacity to employ modern teaching strategies that align with global advancements in education.
Professor Al-Zyoud also stressed the pivotal role of instructors in the program’s success, describing them as key partners in achieving its objectives. For his part, Dr. Omar Al-Khattatbeh, the Program Director, stated that this meeting is part of a series of consultative gatherings aimed at enhancing the program’s implementation mechanisms and fostering the exchange of experiences among instructors. He praised the continuous support of the School’s administration and its commitment to advancing both academic and field training performance.
Dr. Al-Khattatbeh added that the program represents a successful national model for preparing outstanding teachers capable of responding to educational and technological changes. He noted that the strong collaboration between the School and the Ministry of Education has enhanced the quality of field training and aligned program outcomes with the needs of the educational field, thereby positively impacting the performance of new teachers in schools.
