Professor Dr. Rabhi Mustafa Alian, a professor of Library and Information Science at the School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan, participated in the annual conference of the Egyptian Library and Information Association, held at the Academy of Arts in Cairo. The conference, themed "Challenges of the Digital Age in Library and Information Institutions," brought together a distinguished group of academics and specialists from various Arab countries.
Dr. Alian presented a significant research paper titled "Challenges Facing Digital Archiving in Information Institutions in Jordan from the Perspective of Their Employees." His presentation highlighted the technical and administrative challenges that Jordanian institutions encounter in their efforts to digitize documents and information in a sustainable format. He focused on success stories and innovative models that institutions can adopt to enhance their archiving systems. The paper garnered wide interest among participants, who discussed similar challenges in other countries and explored avenues for regional cooperation to advance digital archiving systems.
On the sidelines of the conference, Dr. Alian held productive meetings with several professors of Library and Information Science from Egyptian universities. They discussed prospects for academic and research collaboration between Jordanian and Egyptian universities and exchanged insights on the latest developments in the field of libraries and information.
Dr. Alian also visited the renowned Bibliotheca Alexandrina, one of the Arab world's most prominent cultural landmarks. During his visit, he praised the efforts made to preserve digital human heritage and explored ways to leverage this pioneering experience to improve library and information systems in Jordan and the region.
