The University of Jordan, represented by the School of Educational Sciences , has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the “Sadaqa" Foundation aimed at advancing the childcare sector and improving the quality of educational services provided in early childhood settings. This initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships between academic institutions and civil society.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Dean of the School of Educational Sciences , Dr. Mohammad Sael Al-Zayoud; Early Childhood Education specialist Dr. Iman Al-Baytawi; and from Sadaqa Foundation: General Director Randa Naffa, founding team member Sahar Al-Aloul, and project coordinator Rana Ali.
Dr. Al-Zayoud emphasized the importance of this partnership, describing it as a successful model of synergy between academia and civil society organizations. He also stressed the faculty's commitment to preparing qualified female graduates who can bring about positive change in early childhood institutions and effectively meet labor market demands.
Randa Naffa expressed her appreciation for the collaboration with the University of Jordan, describing it as a strategic step toward supporting working women by developing educational and professional childcare environments. She affirmed that the MoU aligns with Sadaqa's vision of building a comprehensive and sustainable care sector that promotes social and economic development.
The memorandum outlines several areas of cooperation, including the development of a model educational and training university-based childcare center to serve as a national benchmark. It also involves upgrading the University of Jordan's nursery to function as a practical training environment for students of the School of Educational Sciences , in addition to designing specialized training programs for childcare workers.
The agreement also includes on-the-job training programs, curriculum review, linking students to certified nurseries, and organizing a national conference to address the challenges facing the childcare sector and propose sustainable solutions to support children, families, and society.
The MoU spans three years and is renewable. It covers technical, administrative, and research aspects, and provides opportunities for organizing seminars, training workshops, field visits, and knowledge exchange to further the development of this vital sector.
