Al-Jazi Presented Insights into the Guarantees of Human Rights in Jordan.

The University of Jordan School of Educational Sciences hosted a dialogue session titled "Achievements of Human Rights in Jordan," presented by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jazi, the Minister of State for Prime Minister's Affairs. The event was held under the patronage of the University President, Dr. Natheer Obeidat, and attended by a distinguished group of specialists, legal experts, educators, and students.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Obeidat emphasized that human rights are ethical entitlements inherent to every individual globally, simply because they are human beings. He stressed that individuals and entities must uphold these ethical standards, and no entity should violate an individual's moral and personal dignity. He further stated that human rights should be protected to ensure that every person can live a dignified life befitting of a human being. This requires a continuous search for legislation that obliges governments to respect basic human rights, regardless of an individual's strength or status, whether they are the aggressor or the victim, sick or healthy.

Dr. Al-Jazi provided insights into legal legislation and guarantees of human rights, emphasizing that these rights are regulated in the constitution, laws, international agreements, and national legislations. He highlighted the importance of organizations concerned with human rights, which monitor violations against individuals worldwide. These rights are also protected through national practices and the judiciary, which ensure the implementation of agreements and the preservation of human rights everywhere.

He noted the presence of numerous new legislations that currently reinforce the protection of human rights and freedoms in an organized manner. Dr. Al-Jazi also discussed certain articles in the constitution related to various rights, the Cybercrime Law and its importance in respecting individuals' privacy in the digital space.

Dr. Mohammad Sayel Al-Zyoud, Dean of the School of Educational Sciences, mentioned that such intellectual and national meetings highlight one of Jordan's most significant national achievements—its commitment to respecting human rights in a world witnessing flagrant human rights violations in various parts of the globe. He emphasized that these gatherings are a reflection of the university's role in raising awareness, educating, and fulfilling its responsibilities to the country, the state, and society. The meetings bring together experts, thinkers, and professionals, along with state officials from various sectors, to provide an objective and fair representation of achievements, development opportunities, and improvement, free from narrow and negative perspectives that undermine self-esteem and spread pessimism.

Dr. Al-Zyoud highlighted the diverse and continuous meetings organized by the University of Jordan across its various faculties, from medicine in the far south of the campus to educational sciences in the far north. These meetings serve as educational and awareness-raising platforms on a wide range of topics, addressing the building of individuals with values, ethics, virtues, cultural behavior, and a sense of belonging to the nation. They underscore the university's commitment to the country and society.

In conclusion, Dr. Al-Jazi answered questions and inquiries from students and attendees.
