Dr. Mohammad Sayel Al-Zyoud, the Dean of the School of Educational Sciences, and Dr. Saleh Al-Rawadieh, the former dean of the School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan, have been appointed as members of the Higher Council of the National Center for Curriculum Development.
The National Center for Curriculum Development is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the curriculum framework in educational institutions. It also proposes the basis for curriculum and textbook review, educational materials, teacher guides, assessment procedures, and periodic evaluation. These proposals are then submitted to the Ministry of Education for approval in accordance with the law and regulations. The Center also prepares suitable technical methods for testing and trialing newly developed textbooks and other materials without disrupting the educational process. Additionally, it analyzes student performance data in various assessments to inform curriculum development and evaluation procedures and provides the Ministry with lists of books, references, and journals that can enrich school libraries.
The Higher Council is chaired by Dr. Muhi al-Din Tawq and includes members such as Dr. Ibrahim Badran, Dr. Rawida Al-Maaytah, Sheikh Abdul Karim Al-Khasawneh, Dr. Youssef Al-Sawalma, and Adam Aspir Zriqat. It's worth noting that, according to its internal regulations, the Higher Council includes the Minister of Education, Dr. Azmi Mahafzah.
