The School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan has achieved a major academic milestone by ranking among the top 500 universities worldwide in the field of Education according to the 2025 ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS). The School was placed in the 401–500 global band—an accomplishment that reflects the excellence of its academic programs and its continuous progress in research.
ShanghaiRanking is recognized as one of the most rigorous and prestigious global university rankings. Its criteria focus on high-impact research quality, the number of publications in world-classified journals, international citation rates, academic reputation, and global research influence. The inclusion of the School of Educational Sciences in this ranking signals its success in meeting international standards and developing an academic environment that is globally competitive.
On this occasion, Prof. Mohammad Sail Al-Zyoud, Dean of the School of Educational Sciences, expressed pride in this achievement, stating:
“Being ranked in the global 401–500 band in the 2025 Shanghai Ranking marks a significant step that reflects years of dedicated work in developing academic programs, strengthening scientific research, and empowering faculty members and students to produce rigorous and impactful scholarship. This accomplishment crowns the School’s vision to achieve regional and global leadership in the educational sciences, and we remain committed to advancing further on this path of excellence.”
Prof. Al-Zyoud added:
“I extend my sincere gratitude to His Excellency Prof. Nathir Obeidat, President of the University of Jordan, for his continuous support and strategic vision that has contributed to strengthening the University's presence in global rankings. He further emphasized that the School will continue its efforts to enhance its research environment, strengthen international partnerships, and develop its academic programs in alignment with the latest global trends in educational sciences.
