High Diploma in Teacher Preparation: Program Overview
The High Diploma in Teacher Preparation (HDTP) is a nationally accredited program by the Ministry of Education. Designed to strengthen the pedagogical skills and professional competencies of teachers, the program targets educators of grades P-12 across a range of disciplines including:
- Arabic Language
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Geology)
- Classroom Teacher
This rigorous one-year program combines structured theoretical coursework, M1,M2 and M3,with intensive field-based practicum experiences, including three supervised school-based teaching placements, SEP1,SEP2 and SEP3. By integrating theory with practice, the diploma equips candidates with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions required to assume full responsibility for the teaching and learning process upon graduation.

High Diploma in Teacher Preparation – Program Description
The High Diploma in Teacher Preparation is a rigorous, graduate-level academic program designed to qualify individuals holding a bachelor's degree for entry into the teaching profession. The program specifically targets candidates with academic backgrounds aligned to critical educational disciplines, and seeks to develop their pedagogical, theoretical, and practical competencies in accordance with national and international standards of teacher preparation.
HDTP Specializations
Eligible candidates must hold an undergraduate degree in one of the following designated disciplines:
- Arabic Language
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Sciences, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Geology
- Classroom Teacher
Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Qualification: A minimum undergraduate GPA of “Pass" or higher is required for admission.
- Age Requirement: No specific age limitation is imposed.
- Full-Time Study Commitment: The program requires full-time enrollment. Candidates must demonstrate a high level of commitment to regular attendance in both theoretical coursework and school experience practicum.
Alternative Specializations
In cases where a candidate's undergraduate specialization falls outside the officially designated HDTP specializations, the application will be referred to the relevant academic department for further evaluation. The department will assess the compatibility of the candidate's academic background with program objectives and determine eligibility on a case-by-case basis.
Admission Process
The admission process is merit-based and competitive, involving the following procedures:
- Verification and academic auditing of submitted applications, with prioritization based on relevance of specialization.
- A scheduled personal interview and the completion of a written task designed to assess the candidate's academic and pedagogical potential.
Notification of Admission
The final list of accepted candidates will be announced no later than two weeks prior to the commencement of the academic semester.
