University of Jordan News (UJ News) - The School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan held the second Partnership and Guidance Forum under the patronage of the Dean of the School of Educational Sciences, Dr. Mohammad Sayel Alzyoud, aiming to strengthen the partnership between the Higher Diploma for Teacher Preparation and the Ministry of Education.
The forum was attended by directors of partner education directorates, technical directors, heads of supervision departments, educational supervisors collaborating with mentor teachers, representatives from Queen Rania Teacher Academy, and representatives from USAID. The purpose of the event was to reinforce the partnership between the program and the partner entities. The forum focused on providing support to student teachers in the Higher Diploma Program, overcoming the challenges they face, enabling them to apply what they have learned in the program, and contributing to the preparation of future teachers. Dr. Alzyoud, Dean of the School of Educational Sciences, emphasized that the University of Jordan is committed to preparing a new generation of teachers who possess vision, mission, advanced skills, practices, and strategies in teaching, and who can lead educational situations efficiently. He highlighted that this goal can only be achieved through a genuine partnership between the School of Educational Sciences and the Ministry of Education, along with creating a fertile environment where teachers can apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the program for effective teaching. This includes understanding educational theories, planning and delivering lessons, developing practices, and managing classrooms, which ultimately enhances the quality of education. Dr. Alzyoud added that the significance of the national program lies in preparing a new generation of teachers in Jordan who are equipped with the best global practices in preparation and qualification, following the latest educational methods that align with the needs of the modern era. Dr. Alzyoud also thanked the team of the Higher Diploma Program for their great and professional efforts in implementing the program, and he expressed his gratitude to all the partners for their fruitful and appreciated contributions in supporting teachers in partner schools. Dr. Omar Khattab, Director of the Higher Diploma Program, presented an introductory presentation on the program, emphasizing the importance of concerted efforts and resources in preparing future teachers in this national program, enabling them to lead their classrooms effectively, in line with the royal vision of continuing teacher training and skill development to keep pace with curriculum advancements. Dr. Nisreen Al-Afeshat, the leader of partnerships and school experience, presented a summary of the key results from the school experience surveys conducted with school principals and mentor teachers. The results showed high percentages for all criteria, with improvement in the third school experience compared to the second. The presentation also highlighted the main challenges encountered during the school experience, shared key recommendations, and discussed development opportunities that can be implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education partners. Participants at the forum also provided their feedback. In conclusion, Dr. Alzyoud honored the educational leaders from the Ministry of Education and thanked them for their active participation and attendance at this event. |
