The meeting brought together high-level representatives from the University of Jordan, represented by the School of Educational Sciences, the National Center for Curriculum Development, and faculties of educational sciences across Jordanian universities. Discussions centered on the conference’s vision and objectives, its preparatory stages, and the mechanisms to ensure its scientific and professional success.
The meeting emphasized the conference’s role as a national platform bringing together academics, experts, policymakers, and practitioners from diverse sectors to exchange insights and experiences on curriculum development and assessment. The participants stressed that the conference is not limited to theoretical dialogue but aims to generate practical, actionable recommendations that strengthen the education system’s capacity to respond to future demands and build human capital equipped with 21st-century competencies.
Deliberations also highlighted the importance of positioning the conference as a starting point for an institutionalized national approach to curriculum review—grounded in clear scientific and pedagogical principles and supported by a transparent, periodic evaluation process. The committee reviewed logistical and technical preparations related to receiving scientific submissions, publication requirements, academic peer-review mechanisms, and strategies for documenting conference proceedings both digitally and in print to ensure sustainable intellectual and practical impact.
Special attention was given to the need to strengthen partnerships with faculties of educational sciences across public and private universities, research centers, and relevant governmental and civil society institutions. Such collaboration would enrich the conference themes with diverse experiences and field-based expertise.
The committee agreed that the conference, through its seven integrated tracks, will serve as a roadmap for Jordanian educational institutions in curriculum development, design, and evaluation, aligning them with international benchmarks such as TIMSS and PISA, while ensuring consistency with Jordan’s cultural and value-based context. It was stressed that curriculum development should not occur in isolation from social, political, and economic realities, but rather align with national priorities, particularly the Royal Vision that underscores education as a strategic tool for comprehensive national development.
The central role of teachers was also emphasized, with participants affirming that meaningful curriculum reform cannot succeed without well-prepared and continuously trained teachers supported by an enabling environment. Accordingly, one of the conference’s tracks will be dedicated to teacher preparation, equipping educators to effectively implement modern curricula, providing necessary guidance and support, and enhancing sustainable professional development.
The discussions further underscored the need to embed national and value-based dimensions within curricula to strengthen identity and belonging, and to cultivate balanced individuals equipped with the awareness and skills required to live in a democratic, pluralistic society that is open to the world while preserving cultural identity and national heritage.
At the conclusion of the meeting, committee members expressed their aspiration for the conference to be a landmark national event, distinguished by the quality of its scholarly contributions, diversity of participants, and the applicability of its outcomes in the educational field. They also agreed on developing a media plan to promote the conference locally and regionally and enhance its visibility across digital platforms and educational institutions, ensuring broad participation from Jordan and beyond.
An official statement will later be issued announcing the conference date, keynote speakers, registration procedures, and the themes of its scientific sessions and workshops.
In this way, the conference is moving forward to embody a shared national vision among educational and academic institutions, laying the foundation for a new phase in educational development in Jordan—anchored in innovation, quality, and a forward-looking openness to the future.
