As part of its commitment to advancing the academic and training capacities of its staff, and in line with the latest developments in education and digital applications, the Higher Diploma in Teacher Preparation program at the School of Educational Sciences, University of Jordan, organized two specialized training workshops targeting all program instructors. The initiative aimed to foster a culture of continuous learning and promote the adoption of international best practices in education.
The implementation of these workshops reflects the School’s vision and mission to achieve academic and research excellence, provide a safe and engaging learning environment, and empower teachers to lead their classrooms effectively while preparing future educators qualified at the local, regional, and global levels.
The first workshop, entitled Supportive Approaches to Interactive Learning Environments, focused on creating stimulating classroom settings based on innovative learning strategies that integrate modern technology into the educational process.
The second workshop, Test Specification Table Development, addressed the foundations and standards of effective test design, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and fair, objective assessment of students’ skills. It also explored different types of questions, levels of difficulty, and the analysis of test results to improve teaching methods and learning outcomes, with particular emphasis on employing technology in test construction.
Dean of the School, Prof. Mohammad Sael Al-Zayoud, emphasized that these workshops serve as a cornerstone of the educational process, directly contributing to the professional development of teachers in ways that positively impact the quality of education and its outcomes.
Assistant Dean Dr. Mo’ayyad Al-Khawaldeh affirmed the importance of sustaining such initiatives to continuously enhance instructors’ competencies.
Meanwhile, Program Director Dr. Omar Al-Khattab expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the trainers and school members for their ongoing dedication to professional growth, which supports the program’s outcomes and strategic goals.
The workshops were delivered by Dr. Rami Abu S’ileik and Dr. Wael Al-Anaswah, who excelled in presenting the training content with high professionalism. They effectively combined theoretical insights with practical examples and interactive activities, ensuring the enrichment of participants’ skills.
