A conference was held at the University of Jordan (UJ) on
Wednesday and Thursday 11-12, May, discussed the state of higher education in
the Arab world.
Titled “Higher Education Conference in the Arab World: Towards a
Global Competition”, the refereed conference was organized by UJ Faculty of
Educational Sciences and its counterpart at Zarqa University.
75 scientific papers were presented by a group of scholars and
educational experts from all over the Arab world.
The purpose of the conference is to encourage dialogue and
cooperation between HE institutions with respect to curricula and development
strategies, to come about effectual standards for the management of higher
education programs in the Arab countries, and develop a joint proposal for
standards and guidelines for Quality Assurance, accreditation and best
educational practices.
