Dr. Abdullah Al-Samadi from the School of Educational Sciences Conducts a Training Workshop on Learning Assessment and Grading Mechanisms at the University of Jordan

Professor Abdullah Al-Samadi from the School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan conducted a specialized training workshop organized by the Center for Learning and Teaching Excellence, with the participation of around 150 faculty members from various university faculties across both Amman and Aqaba campuses.

The workshop was held in person and simultaneously broadcast online, reflecting the university’s commitment to expanding access to professional development and academic training opportunities.

The session covered several key themes related to learning assessment and grading mechanisms, including: the concepts and foundations of student learning assessment, forms of learning and academic performance, strategies and tools of assessment, item writing techniques, as well as methodologies for grading and ensuring fairness and objectivity.

During the workshop, Dr. Al-Samadi emphasized the importance of developing and diversifying assessment tools within the university learning environment to align with modern learning requirements and academic quality standards. He noted that such advancements contribute significantly to improving educational outcomes and enhancing learning efficiency at the University of Jordan.

The workshop witnessed active engagement and rich discussions from participants, who raised insightful questions and shared constructive inputs about practical challenges in academic assessment. This reflected the university community’s—particularly the School of Educational Sciences’—deep commitment to advancing teaching and assessment practices in line with global educational trends.

This workshop comes as part of the University of Jordan’s continuous efforts to enhance faculty competencies and adopt best practices in teaching and learning, strengthening its leading position locally and regionally.
