In alignment with ongoing efforts to strengthen academic cooperation between the School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan and the National Center for Curriculum Development, Professor Ibrahim Al-Shar’a from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction has been selected as a member of the committee tasked with developing the Mathematics examination and constructing item banks at the Center.

This selection reflects the Center’s recognition of Dr. Al-Shar’a’s extensive academic expertise in analyzing and evaluating school mathematics curricula, developing educational measurement and assessment tools, and contributing through research and supervision to the advancement of teachers’ competencies and the modernization of mathematics teaching strategies in line with contemporary educational requirements.

The committee includes a distinguished group of specialists in curriculum design, teaching methods, measurement and evaluation, and mathematical subject-matter expertise. It has been entrusted with reviewing, auditing, and approving the learning outcomes for the mathematics subject, in addition to developing comprehensive item banks that account for differences among grade levels and adhere to quality standards, objectivity, and alignment with both the general and specific national frameworks for the updated curricula.

The committee aims to produce high-quality standardized questions capable of assessing higher-order thinking skills among students, thereby enhancing the credibility and reliability of national examinations and supporting improved educational outcomes in Jordanian schools.

Dr. Al-Shar’a’s participation is expected to enrich the committee’s work with his scholarly expertise and specialized pedagogical perspective, contributing to the National Center for Curriculum Development’s efforts to improve assessment tools and enhance the content of the mathematics curriculum.

This collaboration aligns with the strategic plan of the University of Jordan to serve both the local community and the academic sector, and to strengthen partnerships with national educational institutions in ways that support raising the quality of education and advancing assessment and evaluation tools at the national level.
