Program Specifications

Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science / Program Intended Learning Outcomes

After completing the Master of Library and Information Science program, the student is expected to be able to:
1. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the basic concepts, knowledge, and theories in library and information science, including its history, ethical issues, values, and principles governing it.
2. Analyzes and discusses the life cycle of information sources, including their collection, management, organization, preservation, broadcasting, and accessibility of information.
3. Efficiently use and evaluate information technology and its systems in the relevant fields of work.
4. Meets the needs of the beneficiaries of information, prepares it for them, communicates with them effectively, and dedicates itself to continuous lifelong learning.
5. Efficiently apply management principles and modern management trends in information institutions, and develop best practices in the work environment.
6. Apply research methodologies and the tools derived from them in the preparation of its thesis and the preparation of research related to library and information science, information institutions and their communities, and evaluate them in a critical manner, and apply their results in practice.
7. Accurately addresses administrative, organizational, and technological problems facing information institutions.
8. Professionally uses remote ICT applications in providing and marketing information services to beneficiaries.
9. Develops his/her abilities and knowledge and is committed to applying the relevant professional standards issued by various associations, federations and accreditation bodies.
10. Practice higher thinking skills and critical thinking in investigating problems related to information science.
11. Shall abide by the ethics of the profession and exercise its rights and duties within the value system of the society and the ethics of the profession, and the rules of its practice.
