Bachelors Degree in Library and Information Science / Program Overview

  About the program and its main topics
  The Bachelor Program in Library and Information Science was established as of the academic year 2008/2009, and this program had its presence in the march of the college and the university at the level of teaching, research, community service, and providing qualified cadres to manage information resource systems in Jordan and the Arab world.
 
Program Vision
 A high-level program that prepares specialists in library and information science to meet the needs of the Jordanian market and the Arab region.
 
Program Mission
Providing educational, training and research experiences that contribute to providing high-level human resources to manage information resources and services systems in Jordan and the Arab world, and work to create a knowledge, educational and research environment that promotes the principles and values of initiative, participation, transparency, creativity, respect for the values of work and time, and keep pace with the rapid developments in the meaning of information in line with the mission of the college and the university.
 
 Program Objectives
 
1. Providing students with basic concepts in library, information and knowledge science.
2. Rooting the information culture among students to keep pace with the current developments in the specialization and profession.
3. Introduce students to the different types of libraries and information centers in terms of their objectives, functions, and services.
4. Introduce students to the different types of traditional and electronic information sources.
5. Providing students with the skill of organizing and processing different types of information resources.
6. Increasing students' awareness of ICT applications in libraries and information centers.
7. Providing students with the necessary knowledge on how to contact the beneficiaries and provide them with appropriate services.
8. Introducing students to the different types of services and activities provided by libraries and information centers to the beneficiary community.
 
9. Providing students with the necessary knowledge about the organization and management of libraries and information centers.​
