The School of Educational Sciences hosted Ms. Daa'd Al-Muneizil, Director of the Mental Health Program at the Reconstructive Surgery Hospital under the "Doctors Without Borders" organization, for a lecture on enhancing mental health and supporting victims of crises. This session was organized as part of the "Counseling Methods" course for master's students, under the supervision of Dr. Mais Al-Nass'ah.
The lecture focused on the assessment and therapeutic methods directed towards victims of wars and crises. Ms. Al-Muneizil provided a detailed explanation of both standardized and non-standardized assessment tools, emphasizing the importance of adapting these tools to the unique needs of each case. She also discussed art therapy as a creative and effective method for dealing with psychological trauma, demonstrating how this form of therapy helps victims express their feelings and address the psychological impacts in an innovative way. The lecture included practical examples that enriched the learning experience with an applied dimension.
At the conclusion of the session, the students expressed their deep appreciation for Ms. Al-Muneizil's valuable insights and practical experiences. The School emphasized the importance of such lectures, which bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, strengthening students' abilities to address complex psychological issues in society. This, in turn, supports their academic and professional development.
