As part of its commitment to preparing students for smooth and effective integration into professional environments after graduation, the School of Educational Sciences hosted expert Sam Al-Haddad as part of the “Workplace Readiness" course. The session was organized in coordination with the course instructors, Dr. Muna Bader and Ms. Ghada Qaqish, who aimed to provide students with practical skills essential for enhancing their career readiness. Sam Al-Haddad is a distinguished professional in the field of media production. She holds a bachelor's degree in graphic design and has over thirteen years of hands-on experience. She is also certified by the Ministry of Labor as a licensed trainer of trainers and currently works at the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at the University of Jordan as a member of the educational content digitization team. During the session, Al-Haddad covered several practical topics of interest to students preparing to enter the job market. She began with a presentation on how to craft a professional résumé, emphasizing the importance of highlighting personal information, career objectives, chronological experience, and relevant skills and training. She also presented practical examples and outlined common mistakes applicants often make when writing their résumés. She then moved on to discuss job interview preparation skills, stressing the importance of researching prospective employers, practicing answers to common interview questions, using appropriate body language, and building self-confidence. This part of the session included a simulated interview and practical tips to help students navigate the challenges of job interviews effectively. Al-Haddad also addressed the importance of establishing a strong digital presence by creating a professional LinkedIn profile. She explained how to build an appealing profile, starting with choosing an appropriate photo and writing a clear summary, through accurately entering academic and professional information, and concluding with strategies for engaging with professional content and expanding one's network. The session saw enthusiastic participation from students, who showed great interest in the topics presented and raised numerous questions that enriched the discussion. The event concluded with an open discussion, during which Al-Haddad offered personalized advice and guidance to help students define their career paths and plan for their professional futures with confidence and preparedness.
