The School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan Concludes Its Annual Conference with Recommendations Shaping the Future of Arab Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

The School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan concluded the proceedings of its Fifth Annual Conference, held under the theme: “The Future of Education in the Arab World: Innovation, Leadership, and Artificial Intelligence," with distinguished academic participation from a select group of researchers and scholars from Jordan and several Arab countries.

The conference served as a prestigious academic platform for the exchange of expertise and visions regarding the future of Arab education amid global transformations. Its sessions addressed five main themes: educational leadership and foundations, artificial intelligence and educational technology, curricula and teaching methods, psychological sciences, and inclusive education and equal opportunities. Peer-reviewed papers were presented, tackling contemporary issues in Arab education and proposing innovative future visions to keep pace with the digital revolution and harness AI to enhance educational processes.

The second day of the conference featured closing celebrations, including a session to distribute participation certificates and honor researchers whose high-quality papers enriched the academic sessions with intellectual and educational depth. Committee members and technical, organizational, and administrative support teams were also recognized for their sincere and professional contributions to the success of this significant academic event.

In his closing remarks, Professor Dr.  Mohammad Sayel Alzyoud, Dean of the School of Educational Sciences and Conference Chair, expressed pride in the academic and organizational accomplishments of the conference. He emphasized that its success was the result of collaborative efforts and a deep sense of institutional loyalty demonstrated by the School and staff, positioning the University of Jordan as a pioneering academic institution with a global impact.

Dr. Alzyoudhighlighted the professionalism and excellence that characterized all aspects of the conference—from coordination and organization to the high standard of research papers and the active participation of elite Arab researchers, as well as the strong engagement of School and students.

He extended his gratitude to H.E. Professor Dr. Adnan Badran, Chair of the University's Board of Trustees, and to H.E. Professor Dr. Nathir Obeidat, University President, for their esteemed patronage and active participation in the opening ceremony, which added great academic and symbolic value to the event. He also sincerely thanked the Scientific Committee of the Conference, chaired by H.E. Professor Dr. Rateb Al-Saud, for their year-long dedication to preparation, follow-up, and meticulous review, which resulted in a world-class conference with a distinctly Jordanian and Arab flavor.

Dr. Alzyoud also thanked the administrative staff of the school and various university units for their quality support, including the University of Jordan Academy, the university printing press, the Public Relations and Media Unit, the Department of Food Services and Auxiliary Services, the Information Technology Center, the Financial Affairs Unit, the Transportation Department, and the university's radio station. He praised School members who served as peer reviewers and contributed valuable research, and commended those who actively attended the sessions, reflecting strong institutional commitment and scientific engagement.

Special appreciation was given to students from the Postgraduate Diploma in Teacher Preparation Program, whose prominent role in organizing and engaging in conference activities was supervised directly by the Assistant Dean and Program Director. Dr. Alzyoud also expressed deep appreciation to the participating Arab researchers for their scholarly contributions, affirming that their papers added significant value to the field of education and fostered a scientific dialogue that reflects the reality and future aspirations of Arab education amid rapid technological change.

H.E. Professor Dr. Rateb Al-Saud, Chair of the Scientific Committee, expressed his deep appreciation to all researchers who enriched the conference with their valuable papers and advanced ideas on the future of education in the Arab world. He emphasized that the conference served as an intellectual and pedagogical milestone, combining expertise and innovation, providing a dynamic academic space for the cross-fertilization of ideas, sharing best educational practices at both local and regional levels, and offering rigorous scientific recommendations that foresee the digital transformation in education and support institutional development across Arab universities.

He noted that the submitted papers demonstrated depth in research, comprehensiveness in scope, and adherence to precise academic standards that address the needs of Arab education and align with developments in AI and digital learning—thereby enriching academic content and guiding decision-makers toward more sustainable and efficient options. He underscored the importance of leveraging the conference's outcomes in shaping future educational policies and shifting from theorization to effective implementation.

Dr. Al-Saud extended his heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to organizing this major academic event—including members of the scientific and organizing committees, the school's academic and administrative staff, and the students—recognizing their high level of professionalism, commitment, and loyalty, which played a crucial role in the conference's success and its scientific and social mission, while highlighting the prestigious image of the School of Educational Sciences and the University of Jordan.

As part of the conference outcomes, the school announced the release of the “Conference Proceedings Book" in electronic format, which includes all peer-reviewed papers presented during the sessions. This publication serves as an open academic reference for researchers and those interested in developing education and digital learning in the Arab world, thus extending the scientific impact and legacy of the conference.

The conference concluded with a set of key scientific recommendations derived from the research papers and specialized discussions. Chief among these was the call for gradually integrating AI applications into university operations, with continuous evaluation to ensure their effectiveness. Participants emphasized the need to provide AI-based educational tools tailored to the needs of both School and students, supporting teaching processes and enhancing interactive personalized learning experiences.

The recommendations also highlighted the importance of establishing clear legal frameworks to regulate the use of AI in scientific research, uphold ethical standards, and protect data privacy. Furthermore, the conference called on university administrations to develop clear institutional procedures to address the challenges of AI integration—such as diminished human interaction, algorithmic opacity, high costs, and potential impacts on learners' personal skills.

Finally, the conference recommended conducting further applied studies to explore the impact of AI on achieving university missions and developing smart evaluation tools that support personalized education and enhance the quality of educational decision-making.

These recommendations represent a roadmap for the future of higher education in the Arab world, affirming that digital transformation is no longer a luxury but a necessity, and that artificial intelligence stands as a vital pillar in advancing the educational system and keeping pace with modern technological revolutions.

In conclusion, Dr.  Mohammad Sayel Alzyoud described the fifth annual conference as a renewed success story, one that the school is committed to repeating with dedication, as it reflects scientific and institutional engagement, and lays the foundation for future educational conferences with similar ambition—serving knowledge and education and reinforcing the University of Jordan's place among leading global academic institutions.
