The School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan has launched an intensive training course titled "Support and Guidance for Private Sector Teachers," as part of the university’s and the school’s efforts to enhance the quality of education and prepare teachers for their future roles.
This training aims to develop teachers' skills, particularly in the areas of guidance and supervision of student teachers within the Higher Diploma in Teacher Preparation program. Dean of the School of Educational Sciences, Professor Mohammad Sayel Alzyoud, emphasized that holding this course just before the start of the new academic year reflects the effective partnership with both the private and public sectors, contributing to the training of mentor teachers and clarifying their roles in supporting student teachers in the program, ensuring they are fully prepared to accompany students in their field experiences in school settings.

Dr. Alzyoud added that the five-day training program features diverse content, combining theoretical lectures, practical workshops, and interactive training sessions that enhance communication and counseling skills. It also includes discussion sessions with school principals to exchange ideas and unify perspectives on best practices in preparing and guiding new teachers.

Dr. Sahar Abu Hele, Assistant Dean for Higher Diploma Affairs, noted that the program represents a qualitative step in preparing future teachers and reflects the university’s commitment to its social responsibility in improving educational outcomes in Jordan.

Dr. Omar Khattabah, the program director, reiterated the commitment of the School of Educational Sciences and the University of Jordan to keeping pace with the latest developments in education and training. This program is part of a broader vision to improve the quality of education and prepare teachers capable of addressing the ever-evolving challenges in the educational field.

Dr. Nisreen Ofeshat, Head of Partnerships and Supervisor of Field Training, highlighted the importance of this program in building bridges of cooperation between the university and private schools, providing a comprehensive learning environment for student teachers. She commended the efforts of all participating parties, stressing that this fruitful partnership opens new horizons for professional development and expands employment opportunities for graduates.
