In a strategic move aligned with the Royal directives to reform education, the School of Educational Sciences  at the University of Jordan has announced the establishment of a new Department for Teacher Preparation and Field Training, along with a comprehensive development of the Department of Information Science and Educational Technology. These updates reflect the faculty's ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of its academic programs and solidify its pivotal role in preparing teachers to meet the demands of the future.

Professor Dr. Mohammad Sayel Alzyoud, Dean of the School of Educational Sciences , emphasized that this move marks a milestone in the faculty's journey. He noted the importance of integrating theoretical academic preparation with hands-on field training in real educational environments to enhance teachers' pedagogical practices and effectively apply educational theories. He added that the development of the Department of Information Science and Educational Technology comes in response to the inevitable digital transformation in education and aims to equip graduates with modern technological skills in digital content design, e-learning management, and educational data analysis.

Dr. Al-Zyoud affirmed that these updates reflect the University of Jordan's vision to build an integrated educational system that combines solid pedagogical roots with contemporary technologies—perfectly in line with Royal directives to reform and enhance the educational system in Jordan and meet the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He also stressed the goal of bringing about a qualitative leap in academic programs, making them globally competitive while addressing the needs of the local and regional job markets.

The newly established Department for Teacher Preparation and Field Training aims to offer integrated programs that combine theoretical knowledge with intensive practical training in real classrooms, giving students the opportunity to develop professional skills that qualify them for effective educational roles from the moment they graduate. At the same time, the development of the Department of Information Science and Educational Technology aims to prepare future educators with the competencies to utilize modern technologies and artificial intelligence in education, digital content creation, and high-level data analysis, enhancing the competitiveness of University of Jordan graduates locally and globally.

At the conclusion of his statement, Dr. Al-Zyoud announced that Dr. Hiba Dmourah, Assistant Professor in Methods of Teaching English, will assume leadership of the Department for Teacher Preparation and Field Training. This appointment reflects confidence in young national talents and their ability to lead educational change and advance the faculty's standing in teacher education.
