The first meeting of the Board of Directors of the University of Jordan Nursery was held at the School of Educational Sciences, in the presence of Professor Dr. Mohammad Sayel Al-Zayoud, Dean of the School of Educational Sciences, and Dr. Maisoun Al-Duweiri, Chair of the Nursery Board of Directors for the year 2026, along with the board members.

Professor Dr. Mohammad Sayel Al-Zayoud welcomed the board members and expressed his pride in the efforts made to enhance and develop the University Nursery to provide high-quality services befitting the children of the future. He emphasized that the nursery is not merely a childcare facility but rather the first building block in shaping individuals and the future. He added that societal advancement begins with investing in early childhood, and that building an aware, creative generation capable of facing future challenges is a shared responsibility. He expressed his confidence that the Board, with its expertise and competencies, will continue to support the nursery so that it remains a beacon of excellence and comprehensive care. He also affirmed that the School stands ready to provide scientific, training, and consultative support and to address any challenges that may arise.

For her part, Dr. Maisoun Al-Duweiri welcomed the board members and affirmed that the nursery, through their dedicated efforts, is steadily progressing toward achieving a clear vision centered on providing a safe and stimulating educational environment for children in their most sensitive and formative years. She stressed that the nursery’s mission goes beyond childcare services to shaping an aware generation and nurturing balanced personalities capable of creativity and excellence from an early age.

She noted that the achievements realized to date, and the noticeable development in the performance of educational and administrative staff, would not have been possible without the unlimited support and fruitful cooperation with the School.

Dr. Al-Duweiri further emphasized that the Board will remain a strong supporter of the nursery’s development journey, generously offering its time and expertise in service of the nursery and its children.

The meeting reviewed the major achievements of the past year, including maintenance of the heating system, painting works, comprehensive building maintenance, upgrades to the annex building, and the implementation of several workshops and training courses in cooperation with Sadaqa Organization.

The meeting also discussed several awareness initiatives and proposals that could be offered through board members to nursery educators, including food and nutrition protocols, food storage guidelines, sensory stimulation, and the development of children’s sensory-motor skills. These efforts aim to enhance educators’ competencies and improve the quality of services provided to children aged 70 days to four years.

The meeting was attended by board members: Dr. Ola Al-Hawayan, Dr. Omayya Nassar, Dr. Amani Qashmar, Dr. Hala Al-Omari, and Ms. Kawthar Abu Khroub, Director of the Nursery.
