The Public Safety Office at the University of Jordan, in cooperation with the School of Educational Sciences, organized a specialized training workshop as part of the “Safe University” initiative, with the participation of a number of employees from the School as well as staff members from various university units. The workshop was held within the framework of ongoing efforts to promote a culture of public safety and enhance readiness to respond to emergency situations.
The workshop was delivered by Mr. Hamzah Al-Jazi, Director of the Public Safety and Environment Office, and Engineer Hossam Joulak from Jordan Experts Company for Firefighting Equipment, who jointly covered both the theoretical and practical components of the training. The theoretical program addressed the fundamentals of public safety and preventive procedures, while the practical component focused on hands-on training in emergency response mechanisms and the proper use of safety equipment, contributing to improving participants’ efficiency and field preparedness.
For her part, the Vice Dean for Administrative Affairs at the School of Educational Sciences, Dr. Ola Al-Hwayan, emphasized the importance of implementing such training programs within the university environment, highlighting their effective role in raising preventive awareness among staff members and strengthening their ability to respond appropriately to various emergency situations.
It is worth noting that this workshop is part of a structured series of training activities implemented by the Public Safety Office across the University’s schools and units. The “Safe University” initiative aligns with the University of Jordan’s seventh strategic objective, which focuses on providing a safe, healthy, and sustainable campus environment by promoting a culture of preventive safety, enhancing individual preparedness, and developing integrated protection and emergency response systems across the university campus.
