The School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan participated in the University’s celebration of Tree Day, held at the University of Jordan Farm in the Jordan Valley. The event was attended by His Excellency Professor Nathir Obeidat, President of the University, the Vice Presidents, and members of the Deans’ Council and the Board of Trustees.
The School was represented by Dr. Ola Al-Hwayan, Vice Dean for Administrative Affairs, whose participation reaffirmed the commitment of both the University and the School to their national role in promoting afforestation, protecting the environment, and reinforcing sustainability concepts among students, in line with the Royal Vision calling for expanding green spaces and addressing environmental challenges.
Dr. Al-Hwayan emphasized the importance of instilling values of environmental responsibility among students, noting that Tree Day represents a national occasion reflecting Jordanians’ deep connection to their land and their commitment to preserving natural resources. She added that the participation of the School of Educational Sciences stems from its educational mission to prepare environmentally conscious generations capable of actively contributing to sustainable development.
The event included planting a number of trees across the farm facilities, with emphasis placed on the importance of continuous follow-up and care to ensure the sustainability of the planted trees and achieve the desired environmental impact.
It is worth noting that the University of Jordan annually organizes various activities to mark Tree Day, as part of its plans to promote positive environmental practices and support national initiatives aimed at protecting the environment and natural resources in the Kingdom.
